MOSCOW: President Vladimir Putin said if Syrian President Bashar al Asad ever required political asylum, Russia would welcome him in Moscow.
However it is pre mature to discuss the assylum issue regarding the Syrian President as he is very much in control of his office in Damascus.
Russia had already provided asylum to Edward Snowden which was much more complicated case than President Bashr al Asad; Putin was further quoted as saying in an interview.
Edward Snowden was a former US NSA contractor who fled from Washington to Moscow to seek asylum after releasing US classified informations regarding its surveillance program.
