Next general elections in Pakistan would be conducted through Biometric Voting system: Ishaq Dar

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Reforms, Ishaq Dar said that no timeframe could be given regarding the completion of electoral reforms. However, Subcommittee will prepare draft of electoral reforms in two or three weeks.

 

As per details, In-Camera session of electoral reforms committee was presided by Chairman Ishaq Dar. The committee reviewed the development regarding the electoral reforms and expressed its satisfaction over development.

 

After the meeting, a briefing was given to media by Ishaq Dar. He expressed his hope that next general election would be conducted through Biometric voting system.

 

Ishaq added that consensus has been developed on many constitutional amendments and controversial amendments will be discussed in committee.

 

He further stated that a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Arif Alvi to resolve PTI reservations.
