Trilateral summit of Turkey, Russia and Iranian leaders on Syrian Crisis begin in Russia

ISLAMABAD - A trilateral summit of Turkish, Russian and Iranian leaders on Syria crisis began in the Russian city of Sochi on Thursday.

Besides Russian President Vladimir Putin, his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani is attending the summit to seek a long-term settlement of Syrian crisis.

Earlier, talking to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin ahead of the summit, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Syria's territorial integrity will not be ensured unless the PYD/YPG terror group is cleared away from the areas near Turkish border.

Erdogan said Turkey welcomes Russia's positive attitude towards a proposed safe zone in northern Syria as long as it serves to address Turkey's national security concerns.
