How World responded to the Pakistan Independence Day?

ISLAMABAD - World leaders and diplomats extended warm wishes to Pakistan over the 72nd independence day.

In Tehran, the Iranian government sponsored billboards featuring landmarks from all provinces of the country as Supreme Leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei greeted Pakistanis on the occasion.

The Indian high commission in Islamabad took to Twitter to remind people of the two countries of the “common quest for a democratic, peaceful and prosperous region.”

In a video message shared on Twitter, British High Commissioner Thomas Drew wished those watching Urdu and reiterated the United Kingdom’s support for the country. “I have been visiting Pakistan for the last 12 years and (have) lived here for five. I have developed a strong bond with the country. But today I will speak about the future.

The United States embassy in Islamabad also extended greetings.

German Ambassador Martin Kobler extended independence day greetings in an Urdu video message too.
