SP Tahir Khan Dawar murder: Afghan foreign ministry official report

ISLAMABAD: Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday informed thePakistan Embassy in Kabul that a body was found by locals in Dur Babadistrict of Nangarhar Province, on Tuesday.

The Afghan side has confirmed that the service card of Superintendent ofKhyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Tahir Khan Dawar has also been recovered with thebody, a foreign office statement issued here said.

After its hand over to the local police, the body was brought to MohmandDara district and is being transferred to Jalalabad by the Afghanauthorities, the statement said and added that the body was yet to bereceived by the Consul General of Pakistan in Jalalabad. It would besubsequently transferred to Pakistan via Torkham border after completion ofnecessary formalities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in close contact with the AfghanEmbassy, while the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul is also in touch with theAfghan Foreign Ministry, since last night. Further details in this regardwould be shared as and when received, the FO statement said.
