*ISLAMABAD: Wing Commander (retd.) Tariq Habib Khan, Pak Airforce’s warhero who showed extraordinary gallantry in the Indo-Pak wars of 1965 and1971, passed away in Islamabad after a prolonged illness on Wednesday.*
The celebrated war hero was also a decorated airman. The government ofPakistan had conferred upon him the Sitara-e-Jurat (Star of Courage), whichis the third highest military award of Pakistan.
His funeral prayers were offered at Pakistan Airforce’s Nur Khan Airbase inChaklala. A huge number of war heroes, civil and military personalities andpeople belonging to different walks of life attended the funeral rites.

He was laid to rest in PAF cemetery at Chaklala with full military honours.
Later, Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan expressed his condolences onthe sad demise of the nation’s hero.
The air force chief said that Khan was an extraordinary fighter and apatriot, whose services for the country would never be forgotten.
