Former cricketer Ramiz Raja expressed strong dissatisfaction with the Pakistan Cricket Team's dismal performance against India during the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four stage match.
In his YouTube video, Ramiz Raja highlighted various shortcomings within the team, particularly singling out Iftikhar Ahmed for criticism. He suggested that Iftikhar Ahmed's career trajectory seems to be nearing its end and emphasized the need for him to reflect on how to improve his performance against spin bowlers like India's Kuldeep Yadav.
Ramiz Raja criticized Pakistan's batting department, noting that they seem to adopt a one-dimensional, overly aggressive approach that is more suited to T20 cricket, which is causing harm to the team's performance. He argued that this mindset is resulting in vulnerabilities for the batting unit in Test and ODI cricket.
Furthermore, the former cricketer lamented Pakistan's inability to handle spin bowlers like Kuldeep Yadav effectively, especially when the top order struggles against pace bowlers and the middle order falters against spin.
