Apple announced new devices and technology during its annual press conference. They introduced a new service called "Roadside Assistance via Satellite" for the first time, which provides help when there is no signal available, combining emergency SOS and Find My via satellite features.
Readers may recall that with iPhone 14 smartphones and Watches, features like "Emergency SOS" and "Find My via Satellite" were previously introduced for situations where there is no cell tower signal, and these features are now available in 14 countries.
Currently, "Roadside Assistance via Satellite" is only available in the United States. It allows contacting assistance directly via satellite, connecting with organizations that provide roadside help.
This message reaches the direct assistance service, including the need for help or tools and your GPS location.
