Britain regards Pakistan as important ally: Envoy

Minister for Law and Justice Dr. Muhammad Farogh Naseem says Pakistan's relations with Britain are deep rooted and the incumbent government is keen to further developing this partnership in areas of rule of law and counter terrorism.

Talking to British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Thomas Drew in Islamabad, he assured his all out cooperation to the British envoy and stressed the need for working together for a safer Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

The two sides also exchanged views on bilateral issues between the two countries.

During the meeting, Parliamentary Secretary for Law and Justice Barrister Malaeka Bukhari appreciated the efforts of British Government for strengthening the criminal justice system and rule of law in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

Speaking on the occasion, the British envoy said that Britain regards Pakistan as an important ally and Prime Minister Theresa May had visited Pakistan thrice in different capacities.
