Pakistan's Chief Selector, Inzamam-ul-Haq, has obtained a visa for India along with the national team. He arrived in Hyderabad prior to Pakistan's first match against India in the ICC World Cup 2023.
During practice sessions, he actively provided guidance to the players. According to the website 'Cricket Pakistan,' it was revealed that Inzamam's inclusion was not welcomed by the foreign coaches.
However, the team coaches remains silent on the matter. Inzamam was part of the selection panel for the Playing XI in the initial two matches. After returning to Lahore, he is now prepared to fulfill his advisory role from a distance. Inzamam had expressed his desire for the India tour, and this was accepted by Zaka Ashraf, as per sources.
Currently, there is lot of unease among foreign coaches regarding his presence. Normally, the Touring Selection Committee is responsible for selecting the Playing XI during tours. Despite this, Inzamam has expressed his opinion, and it is hoped that his return will continue to have an impact.
In contrast, foreign coaches are feeling uncertain due to changes in the foreign coaches' board, and their future after the World Cup is uncertain. The current administration has chosen to maintain stability based on the importance of the ongoing event.
