Lahore Ranked as the World Most polluted city in air quality rankings

LAHORE - Lahore topped the global ranking of cities with the worst air quality on Friday after air quality soared to ‘hazardous’ with an Air Quality Index (AQI) 489.
According to the reports, Lahore had an air quality index of 489 on Friday, which is categorized as “very unhealthy”. Air quality levels this high can cause cardiovascular and respiratory diseases and pose a risk for COVID-19 patients
Swiss firm IQair declared the Pakistani city of Lahore as the most polluted city in the world.
November is usually the worst month for pollution across north India and Pakistan as farmers burn off stubble in their fields and the cooler weather can trap pollution.
Deep smog reigns over the city of Faisalabad. Visibility is limited to 300 meters. Air pollution is on the rise as the city's air quality index reached 293. Medical experts fear a large-scale outbreak of the disease. The Meteorological Department says the situation could improve if it rains.
