ECC approves Rs 17 bln support package for PIA

The Economic Coordination Committee which met in Islamabad today with Finance Minister Asad Umar in the chair approved a financial support package worth over 17 billion rupees for PIA.
The meeting also decided to allocate 10 million cubic feet per day gas from the Bitrism field to Sui Southern Gas Company.
Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited has also been allocated 12 million cublic feet per day gas from the Dhok Hussain fields.
The Secretary Petroleum Division briefed the ECC about the gas supply situation on Sui Southern Gas Company Limited network.
The ECC was informed that the supply of gas to industry under SSGCL system, covering Sindh and Baluchistan provinces would continue during the winter season, in accordance with recently approved gas supply priority for this sector. Likewise there would be no gas load management for domestic consumers.
