LAHORE: Sikhs will be able to get Amrat Jal from Sarover Sahib Hassanabdal from next month, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Muhammad Siddiqul Farooq told here on Sunday.
He said that this was a longstanding desire of followers of Sikh religion to get the sacred water (Amrat Jal) from Hassanabdal, which is being fulfilled soon.
"Two water treatment plants are being installed along with other arrangements for making available water," he added.
He said: "Amrat Jal was not available even at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib for the last 67 years. I have cleaned the sacred well, installed water treatment plant there and started releasing the sacred water soon after my joining as chairman ETPB three years back," Siddiqul Farooq said.
There was shortage of washrooms and accomodation facilities at Nankana Sahib. Therefore, 100 new rooms have been constructed there. Washrooms will also be built there soon, he added.
He said that efforts were also afoot to register yatra promoters."We have registered four Yatra promoters so far and will continue further registration in this regard," he added.
He said that these promoters would facilitate yatrees coming from all over the world. He said: "I am doing these efforts as per message of Islam which is a religion of harmony and tolerance."
