Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan hints at important decision over coronavirus lock down across the country. Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Tuesday that country cannot bear the cost of lockdown, which has been imposed to stem spread of the novel coronavirus, anymore.
While chairing a cabinet meeting, the premier hinted at bringing more ease in restrictions, adding that it was necessary to open the lockdown.
He vowed to control the further spread of the infection, adding that following the precautionary measures should be top priority.
Khan said that people will be persuaded to adopt the preventive measures and follow the SOPs.
Transport and trains services will be resumed soon after having consultation with provinces, the prime minister said.
During the meeting, the participants expressed concerns over not implementation of SOPs since the lockdown has been eased in the country.
To which, the prime minister directed the information ministry to run an awareness campaign in this regard. Special Assistant to PM on Information Lt Gen (retd) Asim Salim Bajwa expressed resolve to launch massive drive.
