ISLAMABAD - European Union has expressed full support to international nuclear accord with Iran urging rival powers to avoid any further escalation over the issue.
This was stated by E.U. Foreign Policy Chief, Federica Mogherini while talking to reporters in Brussels before a meeting with foreign ministers of Britain, France and Germany, who are signatories to the deal.
Mogherini said we will continue to support it as much as we can with all our instruments and all our political will.
Iran’s move was in response to US sanctions imposed following Donald Trump’s withdrawal of United States from accord with Tehran a year ago.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo is likely to meet Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Tuesday to discuss Iran.
