Chinese newspaper People’s Daily said that there are no winners in a trade war, and China does not want to fight, but is not afraid to do so.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump's top economic adviser Larry Kudlow has said both sides will suffer from the escalating trade dispute.
In an interview, he acknowledged the president was wrong to suggest that China would pay tariffs on its exports to the United States.
