LAHORE: A high level meeting chaired by Punjab Minister for Industries, Commerce & Trade, Sheikh Alla-U-Din was held in Lahore today to review the issues of price cap and price raids with key retailers in Lahore on Saturday.
On the occasion, the retailers briefed them about imposed price caps on essential food items under the provisions of the Price Control & Prevention of Profiteering & Hoarding Act, 1977 by the District Administration Lahore.
The Minister Industries urged the participants that no compromise should be made on the quality of edible items and sufficient supply of essential items, fruits and vegetables should be ensured during the upcoming month of Ramadan.
He directed to the DC to make arrangements well in advance to avoid demand supply constraints in the upcoming month of Ramadan.
They informed that the DAL enforces the governmentally-notified prices of essential commodities under the umbrella of the Price Control & Prevention of Profiteering & Hoarding Act by conducting price raids.
The retailers urged the district administration to set up a pricing policy in consideration of the ground realities of modern retail industry and the demand and supply gap in Ramadan. APP
