ISLAMABAD, May 12 (APP): The Islamabad High Court (IHC)
Thursday re-issued notices to all respondents in the plea to modify
its earlier order to re-investigate the role of abettors in High
Treason case.
The federal government had filed review petition against IHC
division bench's order on the write petition moved by former Prime
Minister Shaukat Aziz, then law Minister Zahid Hamid, and former
chief justice of Pakistan Abdul Hameed Dogar.
They challenged Special Court order to try them as abettor in
the high treason case initiated against former President, General
(retd) Pervaiz Musharraf on the act of imposition emergency in the
country on November 3, 2007.
Additional Attorney General, (AAG) argued before the bench
that in its detailed order IHC division bench while directing to re-
investigate the role of abettors in treason case remarked that
earlier investigation would be defected, which was redundant, he
added.
He said federation had no issue with the rest of the order but
with the said remarks of the bench which was contradicted with its
own order and requested the court to review it.
Subsequently, the bench re-issued notice to respondents to
present their stance on the matter and adjourned the case for
indefinite time.
It is pertinent to mention here that in its order the IHC
directed the investigation agency or JIT whatever would be assigned
by federal government for the re investigation on the role of
abettors, afterward the federation moved review petition objecting
the remarks of the court in its detailed order dated November 10,
2015.
