Work on 16MW hydropower project in Gilgit underway

Construction work on 16 Megawatt hydropower project at Naltar area of Gilgit is in progress.
According to a spokesman at the power department said that the project will be completed by June 2020 at a cost of 2.90 billion rupees.
Heavy Mechanical Complex Taxila has awarded the contract of the project to click, a Chinese firm.
The project is being constructed under public sector development program of the federal government to overcome electricity shortage in Gilgit-Baltistan. APP/AFP
