Diplomats harassment in New Delhi: Pakistan to raise matter at highest levels with India

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has lodged protest against harassment and intimidation of the officers, staff and the families and children of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi by Indian state agencies in India.

According to Foreign Office Spokesperson the Indian Deputy High Commissioner J.P. Singh was summoned at FO and a strong protest was lodged in this context, Radio Pakistan has reported.

Director General (South Asia and SAARC) Dr. Mohammad Faisal emphasized that under the Vienna Convention, the safety and the security of Pakistani diplomats and their families is the responsibility of the Indian government.

He said that all these incidents continue unabated despite repeated official protests lodged with the Indian Ministry of External Affairs at the highest level.
