Sarfraz Ahmed lashes out the batting order for disgraceful defeat against New Zealand

ISLAMABAD – The Pakistani captain Sarfraz Ahmed has lashed out at the batsmen over the disgraceful defeat against New Zealand.

Sarfraz has blamed the batting top order for failing to perform in all three one-day internationals (ODIs) against New Zealand during the away tour.

During the post-match discussion, Sarfraz told, “A tough loss, batting was again flop. We will sit together and sort it out.”

He acknowledged that the top order was not able to perform well against the new ball bowlers. “The problem is the new ball. We ll not give so many wickets in the first 10 overs,” he expressed when asked about the three consecutive losses.

Sarfraz himself hasn t performed well with only one two-figure score in the last five international innings.

On the other hand, the New Zealand captain Kane Williamson praised his new ball pacers Trent Boult and Tim Southee for providing the vital breakthroughs consistently. “Fantastic performance all around, a tough surface to get in on. Tim and Trent to start off, just built up that pressure,” he said.

New Zealand thrashed Pakistan in the third ODI at Dunedin and clinched the five-match series with two games to come. Boult picked up five wickets to demolish the Pakistani batting lineup.
