US congress stalls White House deal on sale of eight F-16 fighte jets to Pakistan

WASHINGTON: United States Congress on Tuesday put a hold on the sale of eight F-16 fighter jets to Pakistan. While Obama administration had cleared Pakistan for the said delivery, Congress men showed their reservations and reluctance on the proposed sale of advanced jets to Pakistan.

House of Representatives members objected to the proposed deal and expressed their concerns in the house in connection with the rising nuclear arsenal of Pakistan.

The notification of the said deal has been stalled after the democrat move in the house against the deal seeking further clarification in this regard.
