Rear Admiral Waseem Akram appointed as commander Coasts of Pakistan Navy

KARACHI: Rear Admiral Waseem Akram has taken responsibilities as new Commander Coast. The command change ceremony was held at PNS Iqbal. Waseem Akram took charge from Rear Admiral Syed Bashir Ahmad.

As per details, Admiral Waseem will be in-charge of all units of Pak Navy in Creek Areas and Coastal Belt. He will also be head of Pak Navy’s special services group and Pak marines.

He got commission in Pak Navy operations branch in 1982. He also has vast experience in command and staff appointments. He also has served as DG Naval Intelligence, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff and DG Pakistan Maritime Security Agency.

He was also conferred with Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Sitara-i-Basalat. He was presented Guard of honor after taking responsibilities and introduced with commanding officers. A large number of officers and soldiers of Pak Navy participated in command change ceremony.
