Pakistan to sell surplus electricity, claims Power Minister

ISLAMABAD - Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari says Pakistan is witnessing surplus energy generation due to effective and concrete measures taken by the government.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Wednesday afternoon along with Minister of State Abid Sher Ali, he said there is no load shedding in the country and the government is committed to reduce the tariff of electricity very soon.

He said the surplus electricity will be sold out through competitive bidding.

He said the government is paying all outstanding dues of IPPs and will continue this process in future as well.
