Japan air force drills with U.S. bombers near Korean peninsula

Japanese fighter planes held drills with US bombers and stealth aircraft over East China Sea, south of the Korean peninsula on Tuesday.

Japan’s Air Self Defence Force said in a statement that exercise was the largest in a series aimed at pressuring North Korea following its ballistic missile tests.

He said drill was meant to bolster joint operations and raise combat skills.
