Government successfully implementing NAP: Minister

ISLAMABAD (APP): Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Lt General (R) Abdul Qayyum Friday said the government had been successfully combating challenges of terrorism, energy and economy.
Talking to a private news channel, he said the PML-N government was committed to safeguard internal and external security of the country and effective measures are being taken in this regard.
He said National Action Plan (NAP) and operation Zarb-e-Azb launched by the civil and military leadership were going on and achieving desired results.
He said security situation had improved in the country as terror-related incidents were on decline.
The senator said about 6500 intelligence based operation had been conducted under NAP. A total of 182 seminaries were closed down and their foreign funding amounting to billions of rupees was also frozen, he mentioned.
Abdul Qayyum said the nation was united to defeat terrorism and we would go ahead with our commitment to achieve the target.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had been taking up Kashmir issue on all available forums including United Nations, he added.
