KARACHI: Sindh Police has made another breakthrough in the Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case.

Police has arrested Rao Anwar’s encounter team member on Friday, who has been wanted to police in the Naqeebullah murder case.

Suspended SSP Rao Anwar and 10 other policemen are accused in the killing of 27-year-old Naqeebullah Mehsud and three others who were killed in a fake police encounter in Karachi on January 13.

Private news channel reported that the arrested official was identified as constable Shakeel and he was arrested by the police’s special unit and an intelligence agency.

Police sources claimed that constable Shakeel was part of the team which killed Mehsud.

Anwar, after absconding in the case since late January, was arrested on the Supreme Court’s orders in March after he finally appeared in court and now he is presently on remand with the Malir police, as is DSP Qamar Ahmed and a few other policemen.
