PEMRA issues show cause notice to Aaj News

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Thursday issued show cause notice to Aaj News Television for telecast of unethical content during headlines of 12 pm Thursday.
PEMRA received several complaints against the channel for telecast of indecent material while running promo of an English film.
This act of the channel was against PEMRA Ordinance 2002, PEMRA (Amended) Act 2007 and electronic media code of conduct.
The channel management has been given seven days time for filing reply to the notice.
PEMRA can impose Rs 1 million fine under Section 29 or suspend the licence of the channel under Section 30. (APP)
