MQM missing workers mystery resolved in SHC

KARACHI: The mystery surrounding the disappearance of hundreds of MQM workers seems to be resolved in the Sindh High Court.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation-East Zulfiqar Meher has claimed that the missing workers of MQM-Pakistan are not missing but in fact at large.

He let it be known while submitting reply in Sindh High Court in case of  missing  MQM workers.

SSP Investigation-East revealed that the workers in question had fled to India and other countries in order to dodge arrest.

Zulfiqar Meher revealed to the court that Syed Ameer Ahmed Nizami fled in fear of getting arrested as he had also fled to India during Karachi operation back in 1992-93.In response, Justice Shafi Siddiqui remarked that those who had  fled  had criminal records and that they must have presented solid reasons in order to be granted refuge in those countries.

The court also inquired as to if airports or immigration officials would have the records of these workers leaving the country while directing the relevant authorities to submit complete records in the issue.
