*ISLAMABAD – PM Narendra Modi led BJP government in India is reluctant tohold dialogues with Pakistan because it thinks that BJP hardliners votewill be lost if it holds dialogues with Pakistan, Information MinisterFawad Chaudhry has said.*
*He said that his government wants to resume talks with India and all thestakeholders, including the army, are on board.*
“Pakistan’s army, government and people want peace with India,” Mr Chaudhrytold BBC Urdulink.“In his first speech after victory, PM Imran Khan had said that we willtake two steps if India takes one.”
The BJP thinks his vote-bank could be damaged if it goes for talks withPakistan before the election, the information minister said.
Indian PM Narendra Modi had telephoned PM Imran Khan after the PTI declaredvictory in the elections.
The PTI said PM Khan told Modi that issues between the two nations must beresolved through talks. “Wars can breed tragedies instead of facilitating aresolution of conflicts,” he said.
