Senior Militant Commander Killed in Balochistan Operation

Security forces conducted a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Mand area of Hotabad, Kech district.

The operation resulting in the killing of a senior militant commander identified as Sajjad Baloch, who was serving as Deputy Camp Commander of the outlawed group known as the “Baloch National Army (BNA),” which officials describe as an Indian-backed militant organization.

According to security sources, the operation was launched on the basis of credible intelligence regarding the presence of high-value targets operating in the region.

During the exchange of fire, Sajjad Baloch was neutralized, while other associated militants are believed to have fled the area under cover of darkness.

Following the clearance of the area, security personnel recovered a large cache of foreign-made weapons, ammunition, and military equipment from the site.

Officials stated that the recovered arms indicate continued external support and sophisticated logistical supply lines being utilized by militant networks operating in the region.

The seized material has been shifted for forensic and technical examination as part of ongoing investigations aimed at mapping the wider network and identifying supply routes and facilitators.

Security officials reiterated that operations against terrorism and insurgent elements will continue “relentlessly” across Balochistan as part of sustained efforts to eliminate militant infrastructure and restore long-term stability in the province.

They further emphasized that intelligence-based operations remain a key component of the national counter-terrorism strategy, particularly in remote and difficult terrain where militant groups attempt to regroup or establish safe havens.

The Kech district, including areas such as Mand and Hotabad, has in recent years witnessed intermittent security incidents linked to insurgent activity. Authorities maintain that militant groups operating under various designations continue to attempt destabilization efforts in the region.

Officials reaffirmed that security forces remain fully committed to protecting civilians and maintaining law and order, while disrupting networks involved in violence, sabotage, and cross-border militancy.
