PPP's new strategy for General Elections
Lahore: According to sources, former President and Co-Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari, is scheduled to arrive in Lahore on Wednesday with a focus on the party's activities in Punjab. He is set to participate in the PPP's Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting, scheduled for September, in Lahore.
Joining him in this endeavor, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will also travel from Multan to Lahore tomorrow. During his stay in Lahore, the former foreign minister plans to engage with party workers for a duration of four days. It's worth noting that the PPP has convened a CEC meeting to deliberate on the forthcoming general election date.
This gathering will address the current political climate in the country and strategize for future political developments, including the party's stance on general elections. Invitations have been extended to all CEC members, and the meeting is slated for September 14 at 3 p.m. at Bilawal House Lahore, where PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto will preside over the proceedings.
Previously, several PPP leaders, including Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to promptly announce the election date, emphasizing the constitutional requirement of holding elections within 90 days.
