LONDON: In a significant step, former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif has disclosed the day on which Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), will return to Pakistan ahead of the approaching elections to oversee the party's political campaign in the nation.
According to Shehbaz, Nawaz Sharif will arrive in Pakistan on October 21. The announcement followed a meeting of the PML-N's highest leadership, led by Nawaz, in London.
Due to health issues, Nawaz has been living in self-imposed exile in London since November 2019. In 2017, the Supreme Court permanently barred him from holding public office for failing to declare a payable salary.
