DPO Pakpattan transfer: New revelation surface in inquiry report submitted in SC

ISLAMABAD – New revelations have been made in the inquiry report submitted by former Punjab IGP Kaleem Imam to the Supreme Court.

He submitted the inquiry report in the Supreme Court over Pakpattan DPO’s transfer matter on Wednesday.

In the inquiry report, Ahsan Iqbal Jamil, a close friend of the Maneka family, complained against the police officials who mistreated the Khawar Maneka’s daughter.

The report stated that Pakpattan DPO Gondal was summoned through PSO by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar without taking the IGP in the loop at 10pm. Ahsan Iqbal Jamil was become part of the meeting on Punjab Chief Minister Buzdar’s invitation.

According to the report, Maneka’s children have in doubt that their matter was not resolving due to her uncle’s political association with the opposite political party. Pakpattan DPO Rizwan Gondal cleared his position confidently before the RPO and the Punjab chief minister.

The DPO refused with Ahsan to apologies on behalf of police officials for going any ones ‘*Deera’.*

As per report, Imam maintained that there was no political intervention in the case. Meanwhile, the report said that police officers were neither harassed nor pressured. Pakpattan DPO had felt that he was being pressured and he did not like that, the report added.

It further stated that the chief minister had summoned the police officers as ‘elders’ in order to close the matter in accordance with the tribal traditions.

In the report, the request has been made that the chief minister should not be summoned any police officer next time. It also appealed that the police officer should be summoned through proper channel of Punjab IG regarding any matter.

Earlier this month, Pakpattan DPO’s transfer sparked a controversy as speculation suggested that the police officer was transferred because of the August 23 altercation between the police and Khawar Maneka.
