100 companies of Pakistan Army, Rangers to be deployed across Punjab for Muharram 10: Sources

LAHORE – Punjab Home Department is reportedly calling 100 companies of Pakistan Army and Rangers for deployment across the province for Muharram 10.
Home Department has imposed section 144 across the province.
It has also imposed a ban on pillion riding across the province for a period of two days to thwart any untoward incident during Muharram-ul-Haram.
According to a notification issued on Wednesday, the ban on pillion riding has been imposed under Section 144 on Muharram 9 and 10.
Families, senior citizens, journalists and government officials have been exempted from the ban.
A total of 100 companies of the Pakistan Army and the Punjab Rangers will be deployed across Punjab for security during Muharram.
