Pakistan automobile sector faces another blow

Islamabad: According to the details, in the first three months of the ongoing fiscal year, there has been a 40% decrease in the annual basis in the sale of cars in the country, while in September, there was a 10% increase on a monthly basis.
According to the figures from the All Pakistan Auto Manufacturers Association, from July to September, 20,983 units of cars were sold in the country, which is 40% less than the same period in the previous fiscal year.
In the same period of the previous fiscal year, 35,002 units of cars were sold in the country. In September 2023, 8,312 units of cars were sold in the country, which is 26% less compared to September of the previous year.
In September 2022, 11,288 units of cars were sold in the country, and there was a 10% increase in car sales on a monthly basis compared to August. In August, 7,579 units of cars were sold in the country, which increased to 8,312 units in September.
According to the figures, in the first three months of the current fiscal year, the sale of Pak Suzuki's 10,946 units of cars was recorded, which is 34% less than the 16,639 units in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
In the first three months of the fiscal year, 4,511 units of cars from Indus Motors were sold, which is 49% less than the 8,868 units in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Similarly, Hyundai Nishat sold 2,167 units of cars, which is 30% less than the same period of the previous fiscal year, when 3,097 units of Hyundai Nishat cars were sold.
