On Wednesday, in the Indian state of Bihar, a tragic incident occurred as an express train derailed, resulting in the loss of at least four lives and leaving around 80 individuals injured. This information was conveyed by a district official to Reuters.

The unfortunate derailment took place at the Raghunathpur railway station in Bihar's Buxar district, around 9:35 pm (1605 GMT). Specifically, it affected twenty-one coaches of the North-East Express train, a route connecting Delhi and Assam. Tarun Prakash, the general manager of East Central Railway, provided these details.

In the aftermath of the derailment, reports indicated that three coaches had overturned. However, the exact cause of this distressing incident was not immediately apparent.

As a result of the train accident in India, various other passenger and freight trains had to be redirected, as reported by media sources.

India's Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, made an announcement on the social media network X, confirming the successful completion of the evacuation and rescue efforts for the affected train.
