COAS Gen Asim Munir held important meeting with Qatar's Chief of Staff

The Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, expressed Pakistan's commitment to strengthening its relationship with Qatar.

During a meeting with Qatar's Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General (Pilot) Salem Hamad Eqail Al-Nabet, at GHQ, Rawalpindi, General Asim Munir stated, "Pakistan highly regards its fraternal ties with Qatar, and the Pakistan Army looks forward to expanding defense and security cooperation with the Qatar Armed Forces."

The Inter-Services Public Relations mentioned that the discussions during the meeting included topics of mutual and professional interest as well as regional security situations.

The visiting dignitary commended Pakistan Army's continuous efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and pledged to work towards improving relations between the two nations.

Last month, special forces contingents from Qatar participated in the multi-national special forces exercise 'Eternal Brotherhood-II' in Barotha, Punjab. The exercise aimed to strengthen historic military-to-military relations among friendly countries, develop joint employment concepts, identify areas of mutual interest for future military collaborations, and share experiences in countering terrorism.

Pakistan and Qatar have a longstanding bilateral relationship. Earlier this year, former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and expressed appreciation for Qatar's continued support of Pakistan's development initiatives.

The Emir welcomed PM Shehbaz to Qatar and showed a keen interest in enhancing economic ties between Qatar and Pakistan while reaffirming Qatar's commitment to supporting Pakistan's development agenda.
