Pakistan Army Chief held meeting with Iranian Ambassador at GHQ

RAWALPINDI – Mehdi Honardoost, Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, paid a farewell call on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ on Tuesday.

According to a press release issued by the ISPR, COAS thanked the ambassador for his services in Pakistan and acknowledged his contributions towards improving Pak-Iran relations.

The visiting dignitary also appreciated the COAS for contributions of Pak Army towards regional peace and stability and for efforts in making Pak-Iran border of peace.

On November 12, Lieutenant General You Haitao, Deputy Commander of Chinese People’s Liberation Army, had called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ .

According to a press release issued by the ISPR, matters of mutual interest and army-to-army staff talks were discussed during the meeting.

On November 7, Lieutenant General Hans Werner Wiermann, Director General International Military Staff (IMS), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) had met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ.

According to a press release issued by the ISPR, matters of mutual interests, including regional security situation, were discussed during the meeting. The visiting dignitary appreciated role of Pakistan Army in ensuring peace and stability in the region.
