Massive protests erupt across Occupied Kashmir over rape of three years old Muslim girl

SRINAGAR, MAY 12 (PTK): Rape of a three year old girl has triggered a new outrage in Kashmir valley as hundreds of protests demonstrations were held in different areas seeking a strong punishment for the person involved in the crime.
Thousands of people came out of their homes in different parts of central and north Kashmir's to seek justice for the victim, punishment to the person who committed the crime. People including children and women participated in these protests.
Hundreds of locals this afternoon came out of homes and held a protest march in Khumani Chowk area of Bemina. The protest turned violent when forces tried to disperse youth after which they were pelted with stones. During clashes, many youth suffered pellet injures.
Magam town of central Kashmir's Budgam district also remained shut against the rape and to seek punishment to the person involved in crime and a protest demonstration was held. The protestors were seen holding placards and shouting anti-administration slogans. The protestors also blocked Srinagar-Gulmarg road.
When government forces reached the spot to disperse protestors, they protestors pelted stone on them leading to clashes. Security forces fired teargas smoke shells to disperse the protestors however they continued to throw stones. The clashes continued for hours.
Hundreds of local including women and children staged a protest demonstration on Srinagar-Gulmarg road near Narbal and demanded stern action against the person who has committed the crime. The locals were seen hold placards in hands and shouting slogans like “We want justice”, “Hang the rapist”.
Reports of protests were also received from Chinabal, Pattan, Mirdgund, Diver, Shilwat, Tregam, Sumbal and many more areas of northern Kashmir.
It's pertinent to mention that a three year old girl was raped by a man in Malikpora area of Sumbal in North Kashmir's Bandipora district.
The police yesterday formed a SIT to investigate the case. Police said that it has arrested the accused and further investigation is on. (PTK)
