ISLAMABAD: (APP) Federal Minister defends Sheharyar Khan and Najam Sethi performance
Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Riaz Hussain Pirzada said Wednesday there was no plan to replace top officials of Pakistan Cricket Board.
Speaking during question-hour in the Senate the minister said cricket was an international game and Sheryar Khan and Najam Sehti who were both experienced and honorable officials had been appointed to effectively tackle cricket issues at international issues.
Referring to both to the officials, he added, they successfully conducted Pakistan Super League (PSL) and had been effectively countering issues regarding Pakistan cricket at International level.
Thus, he added it was out of question to replace any of the officials who had proved their worth.
The minister in a written reply to another question says at present, the accounts of the PCB, regarding Pakistan Super Leagues have not been finalized yet, but under process, as the same are being received from different quarters. However the income generated through Pakistan Super League has been estimated at US$ 2.4 million.
As soon as the accounts of Pakistan Super Leagues are finalized, exact income received will be provided by the end of this month, he added.
Replying to another question, the minister said the PCB's current National Selection Committee comprised Inzamam-ul-Haq Chief Selector, Tauseef Ahmed Member, Wajahatullah Wasti and Waseem Haider.
He said all the officials had experience in relevant field and meet other requirements prescribed for appointment on these posts.
