RAWALPINDI: (APP) ANF country wide crackdown on Narcotics and Drugs

 

Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in eight countrywide operations has recovered 8.198 tons of drugs and arrested 10 smugglers.

 

According to ANF spokesman, the operations were conducted in Islamabad, Attock, Jehlum, Vehari, Karak, Peshawar and Qilla Abdullah and the teams recovered 8.190 tons Hashish, two kilograms (kg) Heroin, 3.255 kg Amphetamine and two kg opium worth Rs 4.937 billion in International market.

 

ANF Quetta seized 8.165 tons Hashish, concealed at uninhabited site located in mountainous area near Mezai Ada, District Qilla Abdullah.

 

ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug peddler and recovered 600 gram heroin.

 

In another operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug supplier and recovered 1.2 kg hashish and 400 gram heroin.

 

ANF Rawalpindi in third operation intercepted a Suzuki Bolan at Turki Toll Plaza, GT Road, Jehlum and recovered two kg opium and 13 kg hashish and arrested two drug traffickers.

 

In fourth operation, ANF Rawalpindi arrested a local drug supplier from Ghorsheen, Hassanabdal, Attock on recovery of one kg heroin.

 

ANF Lahore recovered eight kg hashish from a local drug supplier namely Muhammad Zubair resident of Vehari, who was arrested from Chaudhary Bakers area, Burewala, Vehari.

 

ANF Peshawar airport team arrested Inayatullah and Amir Zaman Khan residents of Charsadda, Peshawar Airport area and recovered 3.255 kg Amphetamine. They intended to travel for Jeddah by Shaheen Airline.

 

In another operation, ANF Peshawar intercepted a Toyota Corolla car at Indus Highway, Karak and recovered 3.6 kg hashish.

 

Two persons on board namely Haji Muhammad resident of Wazirstan Agency and Muhammad Sadiq resident of Bannu were also arrested.

 

All cases have been registered at ANF Police stations while further investigations are underway.
