Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa chaired Corps Commanders Conference in GHQ, Important decisions taken

Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has issued directions to all concerned to gear up preparations in support of national effort to counter coronavirus pandemic in case of any eventuality.
The army chief stated this while chairing Core Commanders Conference at GHQ, said ISPR in a press release.
The top military brass also discussed emerging situation with regards to COVID-19 and preventive measures taken at Army level.

Pakistan has reported 21 cases, which surfaced in different cities including Quetta. Most of the patients have returned from Iran.
On Wednesday, the World Health Organisation declared novel Coronavirus, which first started in China, as a pandemic.
WHO chief Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had said, “In the past two weeks, the number of cases of COVID-19 outside China has increased 13-fold, and the number of affected countries has tripled”.
There are now more than 118,000 cases in 114 countries, and 4,291 people have lost their lives. Thousands more are fighting for their lives in hospitals.
The Core Commanders Conference also reviewed operational preparedness, situation along the Line of Control (LoC), geo strategic environment and national & regional security situation with particular emphasis on Afghanistan Peace Process.
