Galiyat receives 1.5 feet snow during last 24 hours

ABBOTTABAD: The roads on Monday blocked in Galiyat and Thandyani areas due to heavy snowfall and land sliding forcing people to stay at homes.
According to Gayat Development Authority (GDA) more than 1.5 feet snow was recorded during the last 24 hours which blocked Abbottabad to Murree and other roads of Galiyat and Thandyani.
The Met Office has forecast more snowfall and rain for the next 48 hours in the upper parts of Hazara region.
Due to land sliding and snowfall Murree road was blocked and GDA advised the tourists to avoid travel to Galiyat until the snow is cleared from the roads.
GDA spokesperson said that KPHA, C&W and GDA teams were engaged to clear the snow and land sliding from the roads. GDA teams were helping locals and tourists to tackle the situation, he added.
