Salman Khan's security beefed up amid death threats

MUMBAI - Mumbai Police have beefed up the security of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan after the Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana police found that the recently arrested gangster Sampat Nehra was purportedly working on killing Khan.

According to Haryana Police, Nehra had done recce to kill the actor and had been planning to execute it for the past few months. Nehra, who was arrested in Hyderabad, was a sharpshooter with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang of Rajasthan.

A senior police official from Mumbai Police confirmed that police cover around the actor’s residence in Bandra (West) has been enhanced.

“We have enhanced the overall security of Salman Khan. Police will be present around his apartment to make sure no nefarious activity is done by the gang from Rajasthan,” he said.

The official added that personal bodyguards have not been provided to Khan from the force yet as the city police is analysing the threat perception.

Lawrence Bishnoi had threatened to kill the actor in January over the blackbuck case, for which the actor used to visit Rajasthan to appear in court.
