Panama JIT reveals how NAB is saving Sharif family

According to the Panama JIT report, NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry had tasked the officials to conclude the pending cases within a period of ten months but references against the first family were not included in the list. Only four references were filed against the family whereas several cases were pending, according to the probe committee.

After Panama Papers surfaced last year, NAB did not collect information in the issue. The issue was taken up by the apex court in October last year and NAB did not taken any action even then, the report states.

The report further reads that the bureau is delaying probe against Sharif family from the ‘day one’ and action in cases against the family were delayed.

JIT filed its report in the top court on July 10 after two months of scrutiny of record and interrogations of the first family including the Prime Minister (PM).
