Neelum-Jhelum hydropower project near completion

WAPDA Chairman Muzammil Hussain says 969-MW Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project will start full generation by March next year.
He was informing Public Accounts Committee, which met in Islamabad today with its Chairman Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah in the chair. The committee reviewed audit paras of WAPDA for year 2015-16 and 2016-17.
The WAPDA chairman said filling of the dam will be started in October. Dry test of the turbine will be conducted in January while first unit will start generation in February.
He said excavation of sixty-eight kilometer tunnels have already been completed one month ahead of its schedule completion.
