Cricket Victoria is keen on a long contract with Babar Azam, who has been offered to play Big Bash League and state cricket.
Sources say that Babar Azam and Cricket Victoria officials had a meeting during the tour of Australia, in which Babar was offered an opening by Melbourne Stars or Renee Gaddes.
Babar Azam expressed his conditional willingness to Cricket Victoria, he will take the final decision after seeing his engagement between September and January.
Cricket Victoria says that it is desired that Babar Azam also plays red ball cricket.
