Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda says in a major breakthrough India has finally agreed to Pakistan's request for inspection of its projects in Chenab basin.
In a tweet on Friday, the Minister said the move came after our continued efforts seeking a negotiated settlement of the longstanding Indus Water Treaty dispute between Pakistan and India.
The Minister said he has directed his team headed by Commissioner for Indus Waters Mehr Ali to visit and carry out inspection of projects from 27th January to 1st of February 2019.
Faisal Vawda said it's indeed a feather in Ministry for water resources' cap and we welcome this gesture from India and expect the same spirit for resolution of other outstanding issues.
