Tunisia deploys troops countrywide following protests

In Tunisia, the government has deployed hundreds of army troops in different parts of the country with the aim of protecting sovereign institutions.
A Defence Ministry spokesman said today in Tunis that in the first phase of deployment, 2,000 soldiers were dispatched to one hundred and twenty three cities of the country.
The military deployments came in the wake of four days of street demonstrations.
